Where can I find the survey link?
The survey link will be emailed directly to local education agency (LEA) or county office directors of curriculum and instruction. Please check email spam folders if your LEA or county office did not receive the email(s) or contact [email protected].
What are the benefits of completing the survey?
Survey responses will inform an accurate picture of Holocaust and genocide education across California. Survey respondents will have the opportunity to also identify any resources that would support your LEA in administering Holocaust and genocide education.
Can I reach out to colleagues to help answer survey questions?
Yes. Please contact colleagues in your LEA who have information pertinent to questions in the survey.
Will my LEA be evaluated based on our survey response?
No. The information collected from LEAs regarding current Holocaust and genocide education is utilized exclusively for research purposes. All responses are highly valuable in enhancing our comprehensive understanding of educational practices across California.
How will data from the survey be shared?
Survey results will be reported in the aggregate as part of the study; access to individual survey responses will be limited to the WestEd research team and will not be publicly reported.
How will information from the study be used?
Results from the study will be reported to the Governor’s Council for Holocaust and Genocide Education. The Council will assess the status of Holocaust and genocide education in California, make recommendations for how to improve Holocaust and genocide education in our schools, promote best practices for educators, schools, and organizations, and sponsor Holocaust and genocide remembrance.
Is this work related to the ethnic studies requirements in California?
